In Photos: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and father Krishnaraj Rai's candid moments

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father Krishnaraj Rai passed away earlier today in Mumbai after suffering from prolonged illness. Mr. Raj was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in a critical condition two weeks ago wherein he succumbed battling the disease today at around 4 PM. 

Reportedly, he was suffering from lymphoma cancer which spread to his brain. Krishnaraj had undergone a treatment for cancer in the past and apparently the cancer relapsed. He was apparently put on ventilator at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital where he breathed his last.

Amongst other celebrities, Mickey Contractor, Kunal Kapoor, Sikandar Kher visited the ailing Krishnaraj in the last two weeks.

In this hour of grief, Aishwarya's in-laws Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were by her side. The actor had to cut short her trip to Dubai where she was holidaying wth husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya. 

Abhishek took off from his work commitments as he stood rock solid by Aishwarya. Aishwarya too was taking care of her father all by herself before Abhishek joined her. Earlier a source had revealed, " Yes he (Krishnaraj Rai) has been in the hospital for the nearly two weeks. Aishwarya is taking care of him despite her being alone as Abhishek was in New York for work. He just got back. Recently at Aaradhya's sports day, Aishwarya was seen cheering for the kids and her own daughter too. But simultaneously she was also keeping a tab on her dad's health."
