In pics: Suniel Shetty and family at prayer meet of his father; Kajol also gets clicked

Following the last rites on March 2, Suniel Shetty and his family today hosted a prayer meet in the memory of his late father Veerapa Shetty.

Clicked here is the Shetty clan including Suniel, wife Mana, daughter Athiya and son Ahaan. Dressed in white, the family stood by each other and were seen greeting the press after winding up the ceremony.

B-town stars in droves turned up to offer condolences to the family. Along with the Bachchans and Akshay Kumar, Kajol Devgn also got snapped as she attended the prayer meet.

Also spotted was Anupam Kher as he headed to the venue.

Suniel’s father Veerapa Shetty passed away on March 2 after a prolonged illness. The 93-year-old breathed his last at 1:30 am on Thursday at Breach Candy Hospital.

Veerapa in 2014 had also suffered a paralytic stroke and Suniel had an entire wing of his residence equipped with high-end medical facility for any emergency.

Speaking about his father to a leading daily in a 2013 interview Suniel had called him as his real life hero. Veerapa after starting off early at the age of 9 went on to become a successful hotelier.

Granddaughter Athiya following her grandfather’s death Instgrammed an old pic of herself with him and loving wrote, “And sometimes even a lifetime isn't enough. Until we meet again thank you for being my grandfather. Hope you're happy and at peace wherever you are. Love you Ajja, will miss you forever,” along with it.
