Amitabh Bachchan's 2016 courtroom drama Pink created a huge rage among the masses in the nation. The movie created lot of awareness about women's safety in the country with its hard-hitting message. Starring Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Angad Bedi and Andrea Tariang in the leads, Pink had set an example and received several accolades at leading award shows.
Yesterday, the Pink team visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan and hosted a special screening at the auditorium to the Honourable President Pranab Mukherjee. We got our hands on few pictures from the screening, where the President felicitated all the artists after watching the movie.
Big B, Taapsee, Andrea, producer Shoojit Sircar and director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury were part of the special event and were felicitated for the same.
Pink was also screened for the Rajasthan Police to make them more sensitive towards women's rights. Moreover, the movie was also showcased at United Nations in the New York City and was applauded by the dignitaries present there.
The plot of the film revolved around three girls played by Taapsee, Kirti and Andrea. Pannu ends up hurting a guy played by Angad as he assaults her. She files a complaint against them, but it backfires as they tag them as prostitutes who took money for spending time with the guys in a private resort.
Big B fights the case for the girls and gave the hard-hitting speech about how several conditions and tags are given to girls due to which there is an impression that girls who are bold and outspoken are of questionable character.
The film with its hard hitting dialogues won many hearts and also raised a lot of questions pertaining to the patriarchal mindset of the society.
