Clicked: SRK and Rekha at the fourth Yash Chopra Memorial Award

Shah Rukh Khan was today presented with the fourth Yash Chopra Memorial Award by Rekha in Mumbai. While SRK was seen in a suit, Rekha rocked a traditional saree for the event.

Shah Rukh Khan was today honoured with the prestigious fourth Yash Chopra Memorial Award. Veteran actress Rekha along with Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao handed over the award to the 51-year-old in a grand ceremony held at JW Marriott, Juhu.

While SRK was all suited up for the event, Rekha looked charming in beautiful saree and gold jewelry.

Speaking at the event an emotional SRK was heard as saying, “This For me one of the most important evenings of my life to be honest, because like I said, to begin with the set of people who are here talking such wonderful nice things about me, showing me a documentary where I have achieved a lot, none of this is possible of it wasn’t for all the beauty, the love and kindness of and gentleness and even now the enthusiasm everyone gives me whenever I meet them I am not well-mannered I am just being well brought up by the Indian film industry. So thank you to all of you belonging to Indian film industry for bringing me up so well.”

The Raees star also narrated an incident about how he was influenced by Yash Chopra to do love stories and revealed, “Well I am really am not, I didn’t think I am good-looking enough, I didn’t think I am pretty boy enough to play romance in films and do the stuff but he kept on telling me jab tak tu love story nae karega tera career nahi banega and when Yash Chopra tells you that you say okay there must be some sense to it… I am who I am because of what Yash Chopra made me do and made me into…”

Also present at the event were Shatrughan Sinha, Simi Garewal, Pamela Chopra, Padmini Kolhapure, Satish Kaushik and Udit Narayan among others.
