Producer Shah Rukh Khan drops in to wish Sidharth & Sonakshi on Day 1 of Ittefaq!

Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra have finally kickstarted the shoot for their upcoming film, Ittefaq. The film is an official remake of the 1969 Hindi murder mystery starring Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. But, the twist is that the two will not be seen as a couple in the film. 

Both the stars tweeted the picture of holding the clapboard. Ittefaq is being produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan's banner Red Chillies. 

SRK, who is the producer of the film, dropped in to wish Sidharth, Sonakshi and the team on the sets of the Ittefaq on Day 1. He took to Twitter to share the picture and wrote, "Ittefaq starts now. Thanx to Juno and his wonderful team."

Karan Johar also shared a picture of Sona and Sid and wrote, "This smashing pair to star in #Ittefaq ....directed by #BRCHOPRA's grandson #Abhaychopra....@DharmaMovies @RedChilliesEnt."

In an interview, Sonakshi confirmed that there's a different angle to Ittefaq and said, “The film’s story has been changed and modified. It’s about three characters and each one has a back story and a reason to be the murderer. It needs to be seen who actually does it.”

Sidharth also said on the same lines - "I am very excited to work with Sonakshi. But we aren’t paired opposite each other in the film. She’s not my romantic interest. There will be another girl in the film as well."

This would be the first time that Sonakshi and Sidharth will be working with each other. The film is likely to release this year.
