Azhar: Will this much-hyped biopic revive Emraan Hashmi's career?
It is no secret that Emraan Hashmi is going through a rough patch on the professional front. Over the last few years, a series of box office failures such as Mr X and Raja Natwarlal have taken a toll on his bankability as a leading man. However, now it seems that the actor is all set to get his career back on track. In an exciting Development, Emraan recently revealed the clean-shaven look he’ll be donning in the much-hyped Azhar.
Featuring the Murder star in the titular role, the film revolves around the life of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Directed by Tony D’Souza, it also features Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri and former Bigg Boss contestant Gautham Gulati in pivotal roles.
Interestingly, Azharuddin was one of India’s most prolific players and captained the National team during the 1990’s. In 2000, he was banned for life courtesy his involvement in match-fixing.
Moreover, on the personal front, he was married to noted actress Sangeeta Bijlani. It will be worth watching how these aspects of his life are incorporated into the film.
Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Sony Pictures Networks, Azhar is slated to hit screens later this year.
