Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh with the Peshwa family
To celebrate the 315th birth anniversary of Peshwa King, Sanjay Leela Bhansali invited the 10th and 11 generation of the Maratha leader – Baji Rao I.
Ranveer Singh, who plays Baji Rao I in the director’s magnum opus film ‘Bajirao Mastani’, posed with the family members. The director had made special arrangements for the family to visit their sets in Pune and also made them see the progress of the film.
The family met the actors, director and crew members and spoke about the era back then. Bhansali also spoke highly about the family and said that his experience was a fulfilling one.

As per a Hindustan Times report, Ranveer and Deepika “gifted Paithani saris to the female members of the family, and shawls to the men” as a sweet gesture. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ stars Ranveer and Deepika in the titular roles and Priyanka Chopra as the Peshwa’s first wife. The film is slated to release on 18th December, 2015!
