The Penthouse S2 drops today; Here's everything that you can expect from the upcoming season

The Penthouse season 2 drops today! Korea's most buzz-worthy drama of 2020 is back with more drama, betrayal and revenge as the stakes for wealth, power and status go up. *SPOILERS ALERT* The last episode of season one ended with Shim Su Ryeon (Lee Ji Ah)'s brutal murder in her own house, Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) is arrested for Shim Su Ryeon's murder and Logan Lee (Park Eun Suk) is held hostage by Joo Dante (Uhm Ki Joon). Logan Lee manages to not only escape himself but also rescue Yoon Hee. He almost strangles her for the twin murders of Shim Su Ryeon and Min Seol A. The last scene of the last episode ends with Yoon Hee lying motionlessly on the floor.

The new season of The Penthouse premieres today and it promises to be bloodier and murkier than the previous season, with new rivalries, clandestine romance and more bloodshed. With new players joining the powerplay, fans can expect a lot more edge-of-the-seat kind of drama. Netizens too have been making some smart predictions for the new season which ended on a cliff-hanger. Here are our top predictions for The Penthouse season 2.

1. The Butterfly-tattoo lady

Lee Ji Ah, who has been smartly kept away from the official promotions of the show, could possibly be essaying the role of the twins' biological mother. We saw a glimpse of it in the first season when Logan Lee shows a picture of the twins' real mother to Shim Su Ryeon. Although the picture was kind of blurry, we did see a fair-skinned woman with permed hair and a butterfly tattoo on her back. This is a strong indication of Ji Ah's return in a double role.

2. Yoon Hee and Ha Yoon Chul

We are aware of the ex-high school sweethearts' closeness with one another and saw glimpses of that in the previous season. In the new season, we can see Yoon Hee and Yoon Chul rekindling their romance, causing major discomfort to Cheon Seo Jin.

3. Budding Romance

Life imitates life! Just like their parents, we can see Seok Joon (Kim Young Dae) and Bae Rona (Kim Hyun Soo)'s sweet teenage romance becoming a major cause of friction between the twins. Also, the love triangle between Joo Seok Hoon, Bae Rona and Ha Eun Byeol (Choi Ye Bin) coupled with Joo Seok Kyung's bitter rivalry with Bae Rona can cause major enmity in the friends' circle.

4. Bae Rona's possible murder

The Penthouse has a penchant for dropping shockers from the word go, so it won't be surprising if we witness a murder in the very first episode itself! In a horrific trailer of the new season, we saw a girl being pushed down the stairs, rolling down a trail of blood and lying covered in blood. Our bet is that it is Bae Rona; the reason being the mother-daughter duo have a lot of rivals who want them dead, and one of them pushed Rona down the stairs to avenge them. But is it Cheon Seo Jin? Ha Eun Byeol? Joo Seok Kyung? Only time and The Penthouse season 2 can answer that.
