After suffering a loss against the Men in Blue, the Pakistan cricket team emerged victorious in the last two games played in the tournament. By defeating the teams like South Africa and New Zealand by 49 runs and 6 wickets, respectively, the team have kept their hopes alive for the semi-finals. It will be a must win game for the Men in Green and the Afghans on the other side are still struggling to claim a win in the tournament. Let’s have a look at their key players. 

1. Mohammad Amir (Pakistan)- With 16 wickets to his credit, this Pakistani bowler is the third highest wicket taker in the tournament so far (only behind Mitchell Starc and Jofra Archer). Amir has been exceptionally consistent with his bowling for the Men in Green and has claimed wickets in important situations in the match. Even against the Men in Blue, when the team’s bowling faced severe concerns with their bowling, Amir stepped up and claimed three wickets with a low economy of 4.70. 

2. Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan)- Despite the team’s poor performance in the tournament, the team witnessed the emergence of several talented players and once such is Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Afghanistan cricket team were successful in giving a tough fight to the unbeaten Indian team in the World Cup. In his 10-over spell, Mujeeb conceded just 26 runs against the Men in Blue and managed to claim a crucial wicket of the Indian opener, Rohit Sharma who has scored two centuries so far in the tournament. Against Bangladesh, Mujeeb claimed three wickets and gave 39 runs in his 10-over spell.
