Pakistan are more experienced and will be the favourites in their encounter against Afghanistan
The Pakistan cricket team should have it easy against Afghanistan in the first game of the World Cup 2019 on Saturday. The Men in Green need to win all their remaining matches and also hope that India defeat England on Sunday. They are coming into this game after two successive wins - against South Africa and New Zealand, and will be high on confidence.
Their win against New Zealand, who were unbeaten till the match against Pakistan, was a clinical one. The fast bowlers from Pakistan took full advantage of the seaming and overcast conditions, with Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Amir causing damage. Babar Azam then scored an unbeaten hundred to help seal the game.
They are more settled, and have more experienced players in the side as compared to Afghanistan. Though players like Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi can spell trouble, the overall superiority of the Pakistan side indicates that they are the clear favourites.
