Ozark season 4 Part 1 was released on Netflix today, just in time for the weekend. For a recap, Marty and Wendy Byrde (Jason Bateman and Laura Linney), the series' protagonists, were last seen in Mexico, where they were attending the second baptism of Omar Navarro's (Felix Solis) young boy. Navarro has Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) killed in front of the Byrdes, who are then hugged and welcomed into the cartel by Navarro, who is coated in Helen's blood. The Byrdes are in the bathroom in the sneak peek teaser for Ozark season 4 attempting to collect themselves and clean up after their horrific baptism into the Navarro cartel.
However, Ozark season 4 will consist of 14 episodes split into two halves, bringing the series to a close. Part 2 will be released on Netflix later this year. Interestingly, Ozark season 4 begins with new paradigms that tilt the balance of power in both Mexico and Missouri, after Helen's death and the Byrde's growing engagement with the Navarro cartel.
