THROWBACK VIDEO: When Sunny Deol jokingly threatened to hit journalists who wrote about him and Amrita Singh

Sunny Deol made his debut into Hindi films with Betaab (1983) alongside Amrita Singh. Back then, there were rumours about his close proximity to the actress. During the shooting of Betaab, Amrita and Sunny got on well both on and off the screen. Sunny Deol was educated in London and was very sophisticated. Similarly, Amrita had grown up amidst politicians and Delhi's high society. They both had some similar personality traits.
Amrita and Sunny set a lot of tongues wagging when they did a romantic scene in Betaab. They smooched on screen and even did a steamy song sequence which wasn't very common during those days. We came across an old interview wherein Sunny has opened up about all such rumours. At the time, he was shooting for his second film, he was asked about what was written about Amrita and Sunny and did that affect his relationship with his fiancee.
Well, Sunny gave a straight answer - "There's nothing like that. Ever before joining the industry, I knew that people do write and kabhi koi zyada likhe, toh pakkad ke maar dena aur kya (laughs)."

After her alleged relationship fizzled out, Amrita had once said, "Sunny wasn't a real relationship. It was more a publicity stunt for Betaab."
Amrita moved on and news started doing the rounds that Sunny was now with Dimple Kapadia who was separated from her superstar husband Rajesh Khanna. When Amrita was once asked about Dimple's relationship with Sunny, she had quoted, "I think she's having her cake and eating it too. She's got nothing to lose And most importantly, she's got her guy where she wants him. So what if it's not heading anywhere? When you've already lived a life, you are happy with a relationship that's at status quo."
Well, be it anything, Sunny Deol has always managed to impress his fans with his acting skills and now he is all set to launch his sons into the world of showbiz.
