Throwback: Rima Jain on Raj Kapoor & Krishna Raj Kapoor - No matter what was said, Papa loved mother deeply
Rima Jain, in a throwback interview, spoke candidly about her parents Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor's unique love story. Rima shared that no matter what was said, her Papa loved her mother deeply.
Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor's love story was a unique one filled with its bouts of happiness and sadness as well. But, at the end of the day, Krishna Raj Kapoor was the one who would get away with Raj Kapoor's heart. In a throwback interview with Filmfare, daughter Rima Jain got candid about her parents and spoke about the first time her father met his potential bride. While visiting with Krishna Raj Kapoor's brother Prem Nath, Raj Kapoor saw his wife from the window as a young woman in a white saree with mogras in her hair and playing the sitar.
The visual for Raj Kapoor was reminiscent of Goddess Saraswati and the 'lady in white' avatar stayed in his mind and his movies for a long time. Rima revealed that her mother always wore white and had a flower in her hair. A lot of chatter about the late legendary actor's affairs were rampant throughout his marriage with Krishna Raj Kapoor but the latter was always there, no matter what. Rima shared, "No matter what was said and written, Papa loved mother deeply."
"The truth is that all life he remained obsessed with her. He may not have expressed it to her the way she’d have liked him to. She may not have been a big part of his life. But whatever Raj Kapoor did, he came back home. His love for her was immense," Rima added.
It's a love story way ahead of its time and it pains us all to know that Krishna Raj Kapoor is no more with us. However, as they say, the show must go on.
