New Zealand has won all the matches played in the tournament so far and stands at the top of the points chart. However, concern rises for the Black Caps as skipper, Kane Williamson might face a one game ban if the team fails to maintain a decent over rate against Pakistan on Wednesday.

The skipper was also fined about 20% of his match fees in the game against Windies for being one over short of their stipulated target. The rest of the New Zealand cricket team were fined 10% of the match fees under International Cricket Council Policy. The team will have to be extra careful against the Men in Green as one slight over rate breach in the tournament will lead to the suspension of their skipper, Kane Williamson.

Talking about the suspension, New Zealand coach, Gary Stead was quoted saying by ‘stuff.co.nz’ that that the team will be talking about the over rate and it’s certainly something that they don’t want. He said that it was so noisy and difficult to hear and in those pressure situations, you need extra time to be clear. He also mentioned that the West Indies team were slow as well.

He also added that it’s his first time in his involvement with the team that they’ve had this. They don’t want to lose their exceptional batsman and skipper, Kane Williamson, and therefore, the team will definitely have a chat about it.
