Netizens pour in love for ATEEZ Yeosang, Weeekly Jihan & WEi Kim YoHan as the new MCs for THE SHOW

On March 2, ATEEZ’s Yeosang, Weeekly’s Jihan & Wei’s Kim Yohan took a new step in their musical careers to make their debut as the newest trio of MCs for THE SHOW, hosted by SBS MTV. As it is a global music broadcast telecasted in 86 regions, a source from the production crew revealed that this fresh pair will appeal to K-pop fans around the world, according to Naver.

This fresh trio’s welcome bids adieu to the previous MCs - THE BOYZ’ Juyeon, EVERGLOW’s Siyeon, and Kim Minkyu. According to the same Naver article, Yeosang, Jihan and Yohan were selected because of their witty and bright personalities, which the production crew thinks can work well for their global audience. The show was telecasted LIVE on SBS MTV, SBS FiL, and on MTV Asia channels. Since the announcement, fanarts have been trending and fans can’t stop talking about their favourite idols, trying to give them more exposure and publicity.

The production crew’s insights were right as in a few hours of THE SHOW going live, #Jihan, #WelcomeMCYohan #요한이와_더쇼타임, #YeosangMC_TheShow and #MCYeosang started trending on Twitter.

Talking a little bit about the groups, ATEEZ (under KQ Entertainment) has dropped their latest album ‘ZERO: FEVER Part 2’ and a music video of their title song, Fireworks (I’m The One). ATINYs can’t stop swooning over the hot visuals, and power-packed performances with incredible vocals. The MV was released on March 1 and it has already garnered more than 10 million views on YouTube!

Weeekly is a seven-member girl group, which debuted on June 30, 2020, with their first EP titled, We Are under Play M Entertainment. They’re now preparing for comeback and have released the first concept teaser of their to-be-released album, We Play. Their title song, Tag Me, from their first EP recorded the highest album sales for a rookie girl group in 2020.

WEi is a six-member boy group under OUI Entertainment. They made their debut on October 5, 2020, with their first EP titled, Identity: First Sight. WEi made a powerful comeback on February 24, 2021, with their second EP titled, Identity: Challenge with the title track ‘All or Nothing’.
