Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam's Kaabil is slated to release on January 25 and after three years, Rajesh Roshan has finally taken the seat of music director for the film. The jukebox is out and here's our review:

Kaabil Hoon

Jubin Nautiyal and Palak Muchhal's voice gives a 90's feel to the title track of the film, Kaabil Hoon. The song starts with guitar riffs and then you have trumpet - this makes the transition even more beautiful. The song also offers you with a drum & bass interlude effect.

Tere mere sapne sabhi, Tere mere sapne sabhi, Band aankhon ke taale mein hain, Chaabi kahaan dhoondhe bata - the lyrics are penned by Nasir Faraaz. But, the song will lose the buzz as soon as you'll be out of the theatres.

Haseeno Ka Deewana

The song will take you back to the lanes of Kishore Da's Sara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana from the 1981 film Yaarana. Raftaar and Payal Dev make this recreated version relatable to the current generation and it's not bad at all. Keyboard and bass music adds to the energy level of the song. This track will surely become one of the top party numbers played in the pubs. Raftaar's rap section is fun to listen to - Arre janta ko jawab do, Kab padogi pyaar mein, Sari duniya lagi hui hai, Hum bhi hai kataar mein!

Kuch Din

Kuch Din is the quintessential emotional song. Jubin Nautiyal's voice doesn't really strike the chord, but Manoj Muntashir's lyrics are surely meaningful and does get you teary-eyed. This song could have been better in accordance with the arrangement of the instruments like saxophone, drums, and guitar strings.

Mon Amour

Mon Amour will remind you of Befikre's Je T'aime and interestingly, they both are sung by Vishal Dadlani. The song has a Salsa and Tango feel to it. If you have heard of Enrique Iglesias' song Bailamos, you would surely find similarities in the music of the two. The song doesn't disappoint you at all but lack originality.

Kaabil Hoon - Sad Version

Kaabil Hoon's sad version is better than the original title track and suits the revenge section of the film. Jubin Nautiyal's makes the track even more intense.

Kisi Se Pyar Ho Jaye

This song is a revamped version of Kishore Kumar, Vikram and Lakshmi's Dil Kya Kare Jab Kisi Se from the film Julie. Jubin Nautiyal's voice and Kumaar's lyrics adds freshness to the number.

Verdict: To sum up, Kaabil's music has a vintage feel to it. The jukebox is a mixed bag of some praiseworthy and average tunes. The music album, clearly, is not able to recreate the magic of Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai

We give it 65 out of 100 on the Pinkvilla meter!
