Dear Zindagi Music Review: Amit, Arijit and Jasleen will give you all the reasons to love your zindagi!
Dear Zindagi stars Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt and their breezy chemistry in their upcoming film is currently the talk of the town. Alia will be seen playing a filmmaker, Kaira, while Shah Rukh will play her mentor Jehangir Khan aka Jug. With just three days left for its release, we give out the music review of the film.
Love You Zindagi
Love it or hate it, you have to live your zindagi. This song depicts the love-hate relationship with your life. With lyrics like "Jo dil se lage, usey keh do hi, hi, hi. Jo dil na lage, usey keh do bye, bye, bye," the song explains the mantra to being happy. Sung by Jasleen Royal, Love You Zindagi is a remedy for your not-so-perfect days. The guitar will lighten your mood for sure. Interestingly, if you are a music buff, you would love how Saxophone and Banjo have been used in the track. Hats Off!
Tu Hi Hai
Tu Hi Hai is for those people who are hopelessly romantic in nature. Arijit Singh has given vocals to it, but somehow the song won’t remain in your head for long. Despite the use of guitar, flute, mandolin, and banjo; the song fails to make an everlasting impact. But wait, if you’re in love, you might fall for this song and the lyrics are such that will make you smile all this while.
Tareefon Se
Arijit, no doubt, pulls off all love and heartbreak songs. But, composer Amit Trivedi has tried experimenting with Arijit’s voice and has surely succeeded in doing so. Guitar, banjo, and flute give that happy feel to the song and you just keep tapping your feet. Kausar Munir’s quirky lyrics and peppy beats do it all for the song.
Let’s Break Up
So let’s break up, o meri jaan
Let’s break up, o maan ja
Teri meri kabhi nahi ban’ni
O jaane de na
Do you have all the reasons to breakup with your BF or GF? No! Then this song might give you all those reasons. Are you guys not compatible? Just breakup. Well, it’s not us who’s saying that but the song very well explains the funda of it. Like The Breakup Song in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, this song also gives that happy celebratory feel to breakup. The song by Vishal Dadlani will remind you of ‘I hate you like I love you’ from Delhi Belly. The use of bass guitar, drums and keyboards give the track a typical disco song feel.
Just Go To Hell Dil
Finally, we have a heartbreak song but with a difference. This song fits perfectly to the jukebox after Let’s Break Up.
Yahan se kahan jaaun, Kahan main chhup jaaun, Ye aadha sa dil, Main kaise lagaaun... O roothe dil, roothe dil, roothe dil, O jhoothe dil, jhoothe dil, jhoothe dil, O toote dil, toote dil, toote dil, Hai kya teri mushkil...O Just go to Hell Dil
Are breakups so easy? They aren’t! You become hopeless and the song will tell how mushkil is it for your rootha dil. Sunidhi Chauhan’s vocals take the song to an entirely different level. It’s like a poem you write to yourself. If you’re going through breakup pangs, you will surely cry after listening to the song. The perfect mix of voilin and drums makes you listen to this number again and again.
Love You Zindagi Club Mix
This is the remixed version of the title song and it’s sung by Alia Bhatt. She adds that perfect masala and you’ll fall in love with this peppy number.
Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le (Take 1 and Take 2)
Remember Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le from Kamal Hasaan and Sridevi’s iconic film Sadma? Well, this song will make you revisit those old lanes, but it has a modern touch. Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le Take 1 is sung by Arijit Singh and by now, you know why he is so successful. Guitars and drums are just fit for the song. If you like Arijit’s version, the music album has something better in store too.
Well, it’s the Take 2 by Alia Bhatt. The beats just go higher and higher and Alia’s vocals do complete justice to it. Just increase the volume in your car and go for a drive with someone you love and sing the song at the top of your voice with Alia.
Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le….. This is what the song will do it and you would want to live your life to the fullest.
Verdict: In a nutshell, the songs are lively and will give hope to your oh-so-hopeless life (if you’re in case living one). Composer Amit Trivedi and lyricist Kausar Munir have done complete justice to Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dear Zindagi.
We give it 70 out of 100 on Pinkvilla meter!
