Starring Sushant Singh Rajput as Team India captain, M.S.Dhoni - The Untold Story traces the journey of the Ranchi boy, who faced a constant struggle between the aspirations of his parents and his own dreams of playing cricket. The film is what all the cricket fans could ask for. The trailer of the film dropped hints of Dhoni's love story complete with romance, music and of course cricket. The film's jukebox is out and is worth listening to.

Here's our music review of M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story:

Besabriyaan

Do you want to break free, fly and let loose from the shackles of everyday life? The song Besabriyaan will make you do that, thanks to Armaan Malik for vocals. The song is composed by Amaal and it instantly sets the right mood. Zindagi se chal kuch aur bhi maange, kyun sochna hai jaana kahan... besabriyaan besabriyaan - the lyrics are penned by Manoj Muntashir and you immerse yourself in the flow of the song. Armaan puts his soul into the song and use of live instruments will make you listen to this song again and again. The string section and guitar riffs bring about crescendo of sound. Besabriyaan will surely be one of those soothing songs you would want to sit back and sing it with your eyes closed.

Kaun Tujhe

Palak Muchchal's vocals, Manoj Muntashir's lyrics and Amaal Malik's composition makes this song different from usual romantic songs. Minimal orchestration with flutes is just the perfect fit for the song. It's a soothing romantic track where the heroine bares her feelings out for her lover and here's when Palak gets it right. If you're in love, you might be left with some tears in your eyes. It's definitely one of the most beautiful composition of 2016 and you'll agree to us after listening to this track.

Jab Tak and Jab Tak (Redux)

Here we have the hero's reply to his ladylove's query. You can join the dots after listening to Kaun Tujhe. Armaan sings it beautifully, but the problem is when you start getting the hang of it, the song falls flat and ends and you crave for listening to it. The song has a country vibe to it and it gives more emphasis to the vocals. Both the songs are pleasant to the ears, but we give more points to the redux version of Jab Tak.

Phir Kabhi

Arijit Singh is on a roll for sure these days. We can't stop thinking about Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's title track and he has given us one more reason to believe in his magical voice - Phir Kabhi. The string section elevates the music and it's the best part of Amaal's composition. The sweet and romantic songs get to your head after listening to the fourth track from the jukebox and you need a rock number like that of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag's track Zinda.

Parwah Nahi

And we have a song which has a rock rebel sound. Pathar ke sab raste parwah nahi... and you feel like standing up and taking a guitar in your hand and sing this song at the top of your voice. Siddharth Basrur hits the right chord and this song will surely please you and in your imagination, you'll be India's one of the top rockstars. Drums, electric guitars and bass adds up to the rock feel of the song. Hands down, Amaal, we must say that this song showcases your versatility as a music composer.

Padhoge Likhoge

The last song just adds to the fun element of the jukebox, but doesn't serve any important purpose for the album. Ananya Nanda and Adithyan A Prithviraj have sung this song and it's a situational one. Padhoge Likhoge banoge nawab, jo tum kheloge kudoge banoge kharab - the song tells the kids to focus on their studies and not sports in a very whimsical tone. The song does get you that aamchi mumbai type feel, but doesn't stay for long in your heads and is surely not one of the memorable songs.

Verdict: Amaal Malik gives a platform to all freshers in the industry and you give a thumbs up to his composition and talent. Manoj Muntashir writes all the songs of this movie and there is a consistency in the album. Amaal does try to break away from the monotony and tries to do something interesting. Here's the jukebox:

We give it 70 out of 100 on the Pinkvilla meter.
