Ms Marvel star Saagar Shaikh shares his views on his role in the upcoming series.
The Ms Marvel cast is finally opening up about their roles in the upcoming Marvel series that will give rise to a new superhero, Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel portrayed on screen by Iman Vellani. Though Vellani has still been tight-lipped on her character, her brother in the series Amir played by Saagar Shaikh has recently shared his views on the series.
In a chat with Screenrant, via Comicbook, on the red carpet of the Moon Knight premiere, Shaikh noted, "I'm her older brother Amir," he continued and mentioned that he was unsure how much he could or could not say since Marvel has kept the series under wraps except the trailer and the official synopsis, little is known about the new superhero joining the Marvel family. Shaikh shared that Amir in the series wants to guide his little sister and be a shoulder she can lean on when times get rough.
Shaikh went on and added, "He wants to be the one that she looks up to while also looking up to her." Previously, co-creator of the series Sana Amanat praised the character's growth in the comics. Amanat elaborated, "She's grown so much in the last four years and the diversity of our fanbase alone is so impressive. They all love Ms Marvel. It goes to show we have a really great story with great creators." Amanat went on and pointed out that it was important for them that they are able to tell young women and girls that they have an innate power within and that they have heroes out there who they can look up to, noting the need for a female teenage superhero in the Marvel Universe.
