Sonam Kapoor's photoshoot for Harper's Bazaar
In this September issue of Harper's Bazaar, Sonam Kapoor gets a dark glamourous makeover as she emerges as an actor of substance this year with two back-to-back hits.
In the interview, Sonam talks of her career choices and how she managed to carve a niche for herself in Bollywood. On her choice of films such as Raanjhanaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Sonam says, "I was in a space where I was not going to sign films because there was a big hero in it, or because it was a project that was going to make 150-200 crore. I wanted to do a film because I liked the character, the script, and I connected with the director."
She also adds with more a more philosophical note, "I've learnt that my life cannot be about just films. The film industry becomes like a snowglobe and you can't see beyond it. Your happiness and your sadness are measured by your success of what you're doing and I think that's absolutely wrong. Because once you leave movies, what defines you? So for me its about moving forward, becoming a better actor, a better person. It's about growing, learning, and changing."
