Kevin Pietersen slams England’s Skipper, Eoin Morgan; says, ‘have not seen a captain show such weakness’
Eoin Morgan led England cricket team suffered from two back to back losses in the on-going World Cup tournament.
England’s Eoin Morgan was slammed and criticised by former English cricketer, Kevin Pietersen for showing too much weakness on the field. Morgan look scared when he faced the Australian pace bowler, Mitchell Starc with new ball in his hand. Mitchell starc took 4 wickets in the match and is currently the highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
However, Kevin wasn’t impressed with Morgan’s lack of confidence on the field and tweeted as,
“The England captain stepping to square leg when Starc bowled his first delivery to him made me think England could have a little problem over the next week or so. I hope not, but I’ve not seen a captain show such a weakness for a while...”
The English captain failed to deliver from the bat and got out to Starc after scoring mere 4 runs in 7 deliveries. The hosts failed miserably in their batting department and only Ben Stokes who smashed 89 runs on board managed to put across a score above 30. Eventually, the team lost to the Aussies by 64 runs which was their third defeat in the tournament so far. Before this, the team suffered from a humiliating loss against the Lankans by 20 runs and are now struggling to find a place in the semi-finals.
England will next encounter Virat Kohli led, Men in Blue on Sunday, June 30th at Edgbaston cricket ground at 3 pm IST.
