Kevin Feige REVEALS why Evan Peters and not Aaron Taylor Johnson played Pietro Maximoff in WandaVision

During the recently held Disney/Marvel TCA session, Kevin Feige divulged that there were all sorts of discussions when it came to Pietro Maximoff's appearance in WandaVision.

*SPOILERS ALERT* Marvel fans have definitely been hooked, line and sinker these past few weeks when it comes to WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. Amid the intriguing storyline with numerous shocking twists and turns in every episode, MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) fans were definitely taken aback (not in a bad way!) with Evan Peters returning as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlett Witch's (Olsen) twin brother Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver.

For the unversed, Aaron Taylor-Johnson played Pietro in Avengers: Age of Ultron, who unfortunately dies at the end of the movie while protecting Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). During a recent appearance at the Disney/Marvel TCA session, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked if there were conversations to bring back Taylor-Johnson as Pietro rather than recasting Peters, who played the beloved superhero in 20th Century Fox's X-Men movies. "Well, there are discussions on everything, at one point or another. That’s one of the fun things about developing these things or blue-skying it in the rooms," Feige revealed, via The Wrap.

Kevin disclosed, "My favourite part of the process is always the very, very beginning when we’re figuring out what something could be and at the very, very end when we’re refining it and putting it out into the world." Feige relayed that there were all sorts of discussion but he believes that they ended up going with what the viewers saw in WandaVision "relatively early on in the development process." According to Kevin, the 'new' Pietro is just another way for certain people to mess around with Wanda.
