New Zealand Skipper, Kane Williamson won the Player of the Tournament award for his excellent contribution to the Black Caps throughout the World Cup. The Captain has always led the team from the front and has proved to be the team’s most reliable batsman throughout the tournament. However, despite the personal laurels and glories, the loss in the final despite scoring equal runs as the winning team would be quite difficult to swallow.

However, it was this cricketer’s sportsmanship and his gracious acceptance of the defeat that makes him one of the greatest players to ever play the game. Despite the heartbreaking defeat in the final, the New Zealand skipper was seen putting forth a smile and accepting the defeat. The fans were amazed with the skipper’s honesty and the fact that he didn’t complain despite the unfair loss in the final. A few also termed him to be the most respected captain in the tournament and mentioned that he is the real winner at the end of the day.

Former cricketers and fans also expressed their respect for the New Zealand skipper, let’s have a look.
