Lisa Haydon is undoubtedly the surprise find of Vikas Bahl's 'Queen', and to quote Shobha De, "What a find!". Lisa's portrayal of the bohemian Vijaylaxmi has rightly gained her much appreciation. Her small and powerful role is etched on everyone's minds, and we're sure, will remain there for a long time. This sultry tall girl who has acted in films such as Aisha and Rascals has proven once again that she has got it in her to pursue that Bollywood dream. Chennai-born Lisa, whose mother is an Australian and father an Indian, is completely moved by the feedback she has received for her performance in Queen. She was spotted by Anil Kapoor in a coffee shop for her debut film. Since then, there is no looking back for Lisa, who is determined about her career goals. In a freewheeling chat with Pinkvilla, Lisa shares her views on Queen and films...

The feedback for Vijaylaxmi has been great. How do you feel?

Undoubtedly awesome! I never ever thought even in my dreams that my character will be so popular. But now when I am talking to people I realise how big has been the impact of my role. Obviously you feel out of this world to get this kind of feedback wherever you are going. It is always a nice feeling when your hardwork pays off. Post Queen, I am yet to find a person who has not liked the film. This film has gained a lot through word of mouth.

So how are you celebrating the success?

All the cast and crew members had a special screening. I am working almost everyday so right now there is hardly any time for a special celebration. We are also going for city tours and then you come to know more about the success of the film. That itself is immensely rewarding. But I am going to Europe at the end of the month for a mini vacation which is a kind of pleasure trip with some work lined up as well.

You don't fall in the category of the quintessential Hindi film heroine. Does that bother you?

Whether it is my body language, my look or my diction -- I never treat these things as my weak points. Rather I feel these add to my USP. Vijayalaxmi is a character which is also not a streotyped role that you see in a Hindi film. She is not at all a regular friend of a heroine and that makes it all the more special. This role is very real and my persona suited that very well. In a way this role is made for me. You win some and then you loose some. So why crib? I waited this long for Queen and now I am not in a hurry to prove my acting talent again. Good things happens in time.

How will you define your relationship with Kangana?

This is our second film together and when you work with someone for the second time you get to know each other well. Kangana is very adjusting and a sincere co-star. She is very talented too. I have a very good relationship with her. Kangana is also someone who has achieved a lot at a very young age which is very commendable.

You were recently quoted about how annoying the experience of working in Rascals was?

I am sorry but that was a misquote. David Dhawan is a very reputed and successful director in the country. I have never said something like this. In my life I have learned many things and I know nothing goes waste. In the film I have even done an item song Shake It Sayiaan which went on to be a popular number. After Rascals, I signed Queen in just six months of time. I have carried on modelling. I’ve done TV shows as an anchor and launched an organic skincare line. So, life has been perfectly busy.

What is your relationship status?

I really don't want to talk about that. Because sometime when you are being misquoted then things gets worse and then it is too much for me to handle.

What's next for Lisa?

I have completed a film titled Santa Banta which also has stars Boman Irani and Vir Das as leads. I am never in a hurry and I can wait for roles which will help me excel as an artist.
