Team India will take on Sri Lanka in what will be the 44th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Sri Lanka are already out of the tournament and will play for pride in their final fixture. They have managed to win only 3 out of their 8 games in spite of performing well in patches. For Sri Lanka, Malinga has been among the wickets, picking up 12 wickets from 6 outings. He would look to test the fragile Indian middle-order and ensure a consolation victory for his side.

India on the other hand are comfortably placed at second position in the points table with 6 wins from 8 games. They go into this game as favorites and will look to try out various combinations in the already weak middle order. Right throughout the tournament, India have relied heavily on the top-order to score runs. Rohit Sharma has been in sublime form scoring 544 runs at an average of 90.67 including four centuries. The skipper too has contributed with half-centuries in almost every game in this tournament and has scored 408 runs from 7 outings. The game against Sri Lanka will be chance to give MS Dhoni and co a chance to bat freely without any pressure and build their confidence ahead of the semis. It would be interesting to see if Mayank Agarwal, the latest entrant into the squad gets a game. On the bowling front, Bhuvneshwar Kumar's injury came as a blessing in disguise as his replacement Mohammed Shami has picked up 14 wickets from 4 games including a hat-trick against Afghanistan.

India will have a chance to finish at the top of the table and clash with New Zealand in the semis if Australia lose to South Africa in the other clash of the day.
