The Indian team were off to a great start and was looking to finish the innings with maximum runs in their hands. However, as predicted, the rain acted as a spoilsport and halted the clash between the arch-rivals in Manchester. According to the weather reports, a slight shower was expected in the late afternoon. However, the commencement of the match on time was a great relief for the fans and the sky was pretty clear throughout the morning. Hopefully, the covers will be out soon and the fans can expect a play. The Indian team are at 305/4 runs after 46.4 overs.

Virat Kohli lost the toss to Pakistani Skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed and the team was put forward to bat first. The Men in Blue had a tremendous start with both their opening batsmen rising up to this big occasion. Rohit Sharma scored his second ton in the tournament with 140 runs of 113 deliveries with an exceptional strike rate of 123.89. KL Rahul on the other hand was promoted up the order in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan and scored a solid 57 off 78 balls providing the team stability in the start.

 Skipper Virat Kohli along with Hardik Pandya managed to bag some runs in the middle with their power-pack hitting before Pandya got dismissed by Mohammad Amir. MS Dhoni couldn’t get past one run and the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli continued his exceptional innings (71 off 62) before the interruption of the rain.
