India won the toss against Pakistan and notched up 136 runs for the first wicket
KL Rahul, opening the innings due to Shikhar Dhawan's injury, was pushed to open the innings against Pakistan. Playing his 17th ODI, the Karnataka player started off sedately but got in the groove soon after to notch up his 12th ODI fifty. With Rohit Sharma at the other end, the right-hander attacked the bad balls and took tight singles to help score 136 for the first wicket.
He pulled Mohammad Amir with ease, cleverly chipped the incoming balls over mid-wicket and then gleefully latched on to the short balls from Shadab Khan. He then hit two sixes in the middle overs, hitting Shoaib Malik by going deep into the crease and then freed a lot of room against the turn and sent a ball by Mohammad Hafeez soaring.
He was out for 57 in 78 balls off Wahab Riaz.
