Kapil Dev says, ‘India will win 7 out of 10 times against Pakistan in World Cup match
Former Indian skipper, Kapil Dev believes that the current Indian team is far more better than Pakistan.
1983 World Cup winning captain, Kapil Dev feels that the current Indian side led by Virat Kohli is far better than Pakistan. He also mentioned that he is not saying this because he is an Indian. Kapil Dev admitted that when he was still playing the game, it was Pakistan who used to be the favourites.
“But I feel when I was playing the Pakistan team was much better than us. Today, I can say that if they play 10 matches, India will win 7. India are far better than Pakistan...What happens that day God knows.” Kapil Dev said.
Kapil Dev appreciated the Indian bowling line-up and the emergence of fast bowlers over the years. He says that if an Indian bowler like Jasprit Bumrah is the number one fast bowler in the World, it shows that we have come a long way. He says that he feels proud about it and admitted that in the past 15 years, bowlers have started coming up. Often all cricketers say bowlers win matches.
When he first saw Bumrah, the former Indian skipper thought that Bumrah might not have such ability; however, he changed his words and admits that he is really fantastic. He wishes him to say extremely fit for the next five years.
When asked about the current skipper and how he would compare his captaincy back in 1983 to the current skipper’s captaincy in 2019, he said, “Virat Kohli is too good. I don’t think I can compare myself with him. He is the number one player in the World.”
Kapil Dev also backed MS Dhoni over his gloves controversy and said that he showed passion for his country and Army and there is nothing wrong in it.
