Ahead of Pakistan's crucial game against India on Sunday, former England skipper Andrew Strauss stated that Pakistan will find it tough to make the top four. The Men in Green started off with a dismal loss to West Indies, but defeated favourites England in the next game.

However, their third game against Sri Lanka was abandoned, which stole Pakistan of garnering a crucial two pioints, considering they were favourites to beat the Lankans. They lost narrowly to Australia, and head into the game with India needing to win all their remaining games.

‘I think they do [need to go unbeaten through their next five games],’ Strauss told Sky Sports. ‘And it’s not beyond them.

‘You think about previous World Cups where Pakistan have started slowly and people give them no chance.

‘And then suddenly they get on a wave of momentum and come through and get to the semi-finals. So it is possible. ‘I’m not sure they’re strong enough at the moment but they could prove me wrong.

‘When they’re on a roll they can be hard to stop. Their supporters get behind them and carry the team through. You can’t write them off.’
