India vs Pakistan, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Cricket fans willing to shell out even Rs 4 lakh to see game
India and Pakistan games in a World Cup is always greatly anticipated.
There is always a great level of excitement and anticipation when India and Pakistan meet in the World Cup. The fact that Pakistan have never defeated India in a World Cup game in six attempts further excites the fans of the Men in Blue, who have been eager to get their hands on tickets for the upcoming game on Sunday. Ahead of the much-awaited clash on Sunday, the adrenaline among the fans is at an all-time high and the same can be seen on the demand for tickets as well.
The India-Pakistan clash will be hosted at Manchester, which has a capacity of 26,000. The tickets for the game had been sold out within 48 hours of the m going live for sale. The match organisers, however, have been asked by at least 5 lakh fans for tickets to the game.
The Indian fans have reportedly booked two thirds of the tickets, while only 18% have been bought by the Pakistanis.
A week before the game, the resale site Viagogo was apparently selling the tcikets for $6000, which is 4,20,000 in INR.
"Ticket sellers compete to offer the best price to customers,” Viagogo mentioned on its website.“Viagogo is a marketplace. Ticket sellers on the marketplace set their own prices, which may be above or below the original face value. Where demand is high and tickets are limited, prices increase,” said Viagogo in its disclaimer.
There hasn't been a Test series between the two countries since 2008. The only time the two nations meet is in ICC events and the Asia Cup, and hence the match on Sunday will be one to watch out for.
