India vs England, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Yuzvendra Chahal's battle with Joe Root to watch out for

Sunday's match between England and India will be of utmost importance in the World Cup 2019, as it will go a long way in decideing the semi-finals of the edition. With no losses thus far, India have more or less sealed the top-four spot, but England, with two consecutive losses will be under pressure. With Pakistan, New Zealand and England fighting for the last two spots in the semi-finals (Australia have qualified and assuming India are through), the hosts need to win this game to stay on course.

The main player for them will be Joe Root, who is their highest run-getter in the tournament so far with two centuries and three fifties. He also has a good record against India, and was the star in 2018 when the two teams last met in a bilareral series. He is also the best English batsman against India with 684 runs from 17 games at an average of 57.

However, he will be up against Yuzvendra Chahal, who is India's leading wicket-taker with ten from five games. India's wrist spinners have been their key weapon, and with the pitch here expected to turn, he will be one of the biggest threats to Root in the middle overs.

Chahal is a smart bowler who varies his lengths and foxes the batters, and, hence, the battle between the duo can go a long way in determining the resut of the game.
