A thrilling 28-run win over Bangladesh in the World Cup 2019 encounter, helped India seal their semi-finals berth for the third time in a row.
After India opted to bat first, the Men in Blue got off to a fiery start as they made 180 runs for the first wicket, with Rohit Sharma getting to his fourth World Cup hundred this edition. A fifty from KL Rahul and a brisk 48 from Rishbah Pant helped India cross the 310-run mark, a target that was not deemed as tough due to the short boundaries.
However, India's new ball bowlers got instant success, and the loss of regular wickets further dented Bangladesh's chances of causing an upset. In the end, despite Shakib Al Hasan getting a fifty, India managed to win with ease, with Jasprit Bumrah starring with the ball.
India has one more league game to play on July 6 against Sri Lanka ebfore the semis get underway.
