Sourav Ganguly warns the Indian team, says that he made the same mistake in the ICC Champions Trophy back in 2017.
The former Captain of Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly feels that the Indian team needs to be extremely careful and should not enter the game thinking of themselves as favourites. While commenting as an expert for Star Sports ahead of the big clash, Ganguly admitted that he made the same mistake back in Champions trophy 2017. It is going to be a great game of cricket at the end.
Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, a legendary cricketing duo both believes that this match is more than just a cricket game.
With all the hype and intensity surrounding the atmosphere in this match, Ganguly admitted that people do get a bit carried away and excited with this game. He said that it going to be a huge game in Manchester tomorrow. He recalled his memories as the Captain of Indian cricket team and said that in his first trip as a Captain against Pakistan in 2003, the team had never won there before but then they won both the Test matches and One-dayers. He further added that his memory of playing as a captain against Pakistan has been happy times for India.
Ganguly appreciated the Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir and said that he was nowhere in the picture in the World Cup 2019 team. The team had dropped him, but he makes a comeback and is the leading fast bowler in the squad. He said that that’s the kind of game you get from a side like Pakistan.
India and Pakistan will face each other tomorrow, 1.e. 16th June at Old Trafford cricket ground, Manchester.
