WWE SmackDown Results: Big E reunites with The New Day; Dolph Ziggler rains on Kofi Kingston's parade
Big E, who is a part of the injured list, reunited with The New Day on this week's WWE SmackDown Live. Dolph Ziggler made his return as well and rained on Kofi Kingston's parade with a vicious attack.
With Money in the Bank 2019 and Monday Night RAW in the backseat, it was time for SmackDown Live to get its spotlight. In this week's episode of the blue brand, the night began with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods welcoming back the third member of The New Day, Big E. Big E was out of action for quite some time owing to a knee injury and while we will have to wait some more for his in-ring return, it was nice to see the wrestler back on television.
The New Day entertained the crowd and even brought up Becky Lynch's mother (the Twitter conversations between Big E and Becky Lynch are pure gold!) before they were interrupted by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Zayn and The New Day had some back and forth with the latter making fun of Owens for losing to Kingston at Money in the Bank 2019. Kevin simply walked to the back while Sami promised that he would win against his match with Kofi Kingston. The champ reiterated that he would walk right through Zayn. Later on, it was revealed that Big E was attacked by Kevin backstage. Xavier let Kofi know that he would accompany Big E to a local medical facility.
