WWE RAW: Seth Rollins wins Battle Royal, books Summerslam bout for Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar
Seth Rollins defeated the likes of Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Braun Strowman in a Battle Royal to book the Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Summerslam 2019. Rollins lost the title to Brock at Extreme Rules 2019.
Seth Rollins was a man on a mission in this week's Monday Night RAW, as he wanted his chance at payback against Brock Lesnar. During Sunday night's Extreme Rules 2019 and after winning against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans in a hard-fought bout, with RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch by his side, Seth was blindsided by The Beast. The wrestler was the "spoiler" Paul Heyman was boasting about as Brock cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and was crowned the new Universal Champion.
Monday Night RAW kickstarted with a 10-minute 'flaunting his client' promo, as Paul revealed that a Cross-Branded Top 10 All-Star Battle Royal main event would determine who would challenge Lesnar for his Universal Championship. Along with Seth, the other opponents were Randy Orton, Big E, Cesaro, Braun Strowman, Rey Mysterio, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns. As Brock and Paul watched from the entrance, the first one to be eliminated was Cesaro followed by Lashley, Big E, Sami, Mysterio and Corbin. Braun took his frustration out on Rollins and Reigns which worked because Roman accidentally speared Seth.
Eventually, Seth eliminated both Reigns and Strowman leaving only his Authority associate Orton in the ring. After a back and forth, an RKO was dodged and instead, a stomp on Orton sealed The Viper's fate. Seth was crowned the winner of the Battle Royal. The Beastslayer will be going up against The Beast at Summerslam 2019 for the Universal Championship.
