WWE News: Triple H REVEALS he was supposed to face The Rock at Wrestlemania 32
Triple H disclosed recently that his opponent at Wrestlemania 32 was supposed to be The Rock. Read below to know more about why the match ultimately was scrapped.
Back in 2015, not only did we get to see Sting wrestle his first ever match in WWE against Triple H, but we also got to see the latter with wife Stephanie McMahon as one-half of a memorable war of words with The Rock and Ronda Rousey. But, did you know that the segment was supposed to be a tease for a future match between Triple H and The Rock at Wrestlemania 32? Eventually, the plan was scrapped and instead we saw the then WWE World Heavyweight Champion take on Roman Reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania 32, instead.
Talking more in detail about the same is Triple H who revealed during Sting's version of the WWE Network series WWE Untold: Triple H (according to Fightful), that the way his match turned out with Sting at Wrestlemania 31, owed it to the possible bout with The Rock at Wrestlemania 32. Hunter Heart Helmsley was booked to fight Dwayne Johnson. "Just as time went on, Rock’s schedule changed later in the year and we weren’t able to do the match for the following year’s WrestleMania one-on-one against The Rock," Hunter confessed.

Triple H also noted that many were pissed about how he won over Sting, as they felt the latter deserved it more. "You know there are people who’ll say, ‘Well…’, I should’ve put him over to give him the moment and that’s arguably -- to say that you should’ve... The Rock situation made that impossible, which didn’t happen, but that’s the truth of it. " the wrestler shared.
