WWE Backstage: CM Punk weighs in on the chances of his WWE return; responds to Seth Rollins' challenge

CM Punk is a name that has been chanted by the WWE Universe on many occasions, especially after the popular wrestler left the company in 2014, following a less than amicable disagreement with WWE. For years, Punk was plagued with the question of the possibility of a WWE return and finally, we were shocked to see the wrestler as the surprise package of WWE Backstage, last week. Finally, Punk has made his debut on the FOX show, this week, and as expected was all guns blazing and no filters attached!

Renee Young, who hosts WWE Backstage with Booker T, asked Punk the question on everyone's mind - will he ever return to a WWE ring? To this, Punk replied with utmost honesty, "So, regardless of what my answer is there’s somebody that’s always going to be upset with it, right? As I said, I’ve stated I work for FOX. I haven’t talked to anybody in WWE. It’s nothing that I’m actively pursuing or interested in." However, as the saying goes; never say never! "But I’m 41-years-old and I’ve lived and experienced life where I know to not say ‘no.’ But that’s going to be a bridge that is going to have to be built and it might take as long as building the Great Wall of China. There are some hurdles there," Punk added.

Ever since Punk popped up on WWE Backstage, Seth Rollins has challenged Mr. Cult of Personality to a WWE match, twice! When Renee asked for his reaction to The Beastslayer's challenge, Punk quipped, "I would like my journalistic integrity to be intact. This isn't the show where you come on and shoot your little angles. Seth needs to stop tweeting and realise that sometimes, it's better to be viewed as the fool when you shut your mouth than when you open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Replying to Punk's dig, Seth tweeted back, "HELL of a "response." Coward."
