Tom Holland is the next James Bond? Spider Man: Far From Home actor REACTS to 007 casting rumours
Tom Holland will soon be seen reprising the role of Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Far From Home. The actor addressed the rumours about him playing the next James Bond.
The hunt for the next James Bond is on. Fans of the 007 series are keen on finding out who will fill the big shoes of Daniel Craig and become the new face of the spy series. Several names have been suggested. The most popular choice has been Thor: Ragnarok star Idris Elba. However, rumours have been doing the rounds suggesting another Marvel Cinematic Universe star is one among the frontrunners for the role. Who are we talking about? Well, word on the street is Avengers: Endgame star Tom Holland could replace Craig in the hit franchise.
The actor has become the face of Spider-Man after he portrayed the role in movies like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Homecoming. The English actor will soon be seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home, reprising Peter Parker in the franchise. While it would be interesting to see the actor shed his webs and don the suit for a James Bond movie, Holland has clarified that he will not be the next James Bond.
The actor, while speaking to Extra, played coy about the rumours. He jokingly declared that he was the next James Bond. "It’s all true, it’s all true. I would, yeah. I’m so excited that they’ve cast me, it’s really exciting. I’m really gonna change the game, and thanks for bringing that to my attention, I forgot about it. It just slipped my mind. But yeah, I’m Bond. Mr. James Bond," he said. "It’s funny, as a kid growing up, the two characters I’ve always wanted to play was either Spider-Man or James Bond. I’m honestly perfectly happy with just the one, I love this character more than anything, and I realize how lucky I am. But that said, I would also like to play James Bond," he played along before giving up and announcing that he's not playing the next James Bond. "I couldn’t play James Bond now, though."
Damn it, Holland. We would have loved seeing you suit up and play a millennial James Bond. Anyway, looks like we have to be happy with a millennial version of Spider-Man for now.
