Tom Hanks starrer News of the World will be hitting the big screen on December 25, 2020. The date of release as per the latest reports had confirmed the film's release on Christmas 2020. The film, News of the World is produced by actor Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Paul Greengrass who previously worked on the 2013 film, Captain Phillips with actor Tom Hanks will helm the film which is based on a novel of the same title. The 2016 novel is written by Paulette Jiles. The fans and film audience are delighted to hear the news of the actor Tom Hanks returning to the big screen. The Angels and Demons actor will be receiving the 2020 prestigious Cecil B DeMille award at Golden Globes.

The actor will be getting the award for his impeccable contribution to the world of cinema. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced the news that they were very delighted to announce that The Da Vinci Code and Forrest Gump will be the recipient of the next year's Cecil B DeMille award at Golden Globes. Now, the new film, News of the World will see Sully: Miracle on the Hudson actor as a widower and veteran of three brutal wars.  

Tom Hanks plays a character that goes around the town announcing the headlines of the day. While the character is busy doing his routine, he meets a 10-year-old girl. Helena Zengel will be essaying the role of the 10-year-old girl who meets Tom Hanks while he goes around the town.
