A young man from Texas has now pleaded guilty to stalking, sending threatening letters and emails to the pop star's former record label.
Taylor Swift's fans are known to go to great lengths to profess their love for her. 'Swifties' as they call themselves are huge fans and literally never let any Taylor Swift news go unnoticed. However, a young Taylor Swift fan-turned-stalker has now pleaded guilty to stalking and sending threatening letters and emails to the pop star's former record label, reported Billboard. A 27-year-old man from Texas named Eric Swarbrick was arrested last year and has now pleaded guilty of stalking the 'Blank Space' singer.
According to the report, Swarbrick began sending letters to Taylor Swift's former record label -- Big Machine Label Group in January 2018. He demanded the company's CEO to introduce him to Swift. However, over the next few months, Swarbrick's letters got even more threatening and violent in nature.
He admitted that he personally came down to the music label's office in Nashville to hand them over and also wandered around the offices. Before being arrested in September 2018, Swarbrick sent close to 40 letters and emails to the company. Taylor, however, has not officially commented on the situation. As per Billboard, Eric Swarbrick will remain in custody until he is sentenced in March. He faces up to five years in prison and a USD 250,000 fine on each of the two counts.
The singer released some new music this year. Namely, 'Lover' and 'You Need to Calm Down'. The songs are undoubtedly a hit and has her fans swooning over them.
