Taylor Swift fans barely let anything related to the pop star go unnoticed. Be it on social media or her public sightings, Swifties always keep an eye out for her. So it came as no surprise when an Instagram live session of Shawn Mendes and John Mayer recreating Taylor's Lover song surfaced on the Internet. The video which has been shot from a mobile phone off a screen, shows singer John Mayer putting his own twist to the pop star's song.
John Mayer shared his thoughts on Mendes and Swift's newly-released 'Lover' remix. He said, "Love the song. I really like the song. I get a little chuckle because she says, ‘We can keep the Christmas lights up ‘til January.' And I go, ‘You're insane. Everyone keeps their Christmas lights up until January.'" Referring to Taylor's lyrics, Mayer improvised as he went along.
He sang, "We can keep the Christmas lights up ‘til January. And then about January 5th, we'll take the lights down. And then we'll put ‘em in a box and we'll label that box Christmas lights. Yeah, we'll put ‘em in the attic until next December." In the video, Shawn Mendes could be seen chuckling along as Mayer gave his own twist to 'Lover'. The hilarious Instagram live session was labelled as Current Mood and had fans had a gala time listening to the duo's banter. Not just that, but Shawn's girlfriend Camila Cabello also dropped in on some comments on the video trying to get her boyfriend's attention.
