One of the most anticipated films of 2019 is The Lion King, which uses photo-realism to bring alive the magic of the 1994 animated version. The voice cast of The Lion King was much talked about because of the inclusion of the one and only, Beyonce Knowles! Queen Bey was cast for providing a fierce voice to Simba's best friend and future queen of Pride Lands, Nala. We got a tiny glimpse of how she sounds as Nala through the trailer and we already can't wait for this Friday!

Along with providing her voice, Beyonce has also helped curate a companion album titled The Lion King: The Gift, which celebrates the spirit of Africa. One of the original songs, which is sung by Beyonce herself is SPIRIT. A few hours back, Beyonce shared the music video for SPIRIT and in true Yonce fashion, the video is nothing short of legendary. From the breathtaking aesthetic to the numerous costume changes (fit for a queen!), Beyonce celebrated life through the inspirational lyrics. There's also the epic cameo by Beyonce's princess, Blue Ivy Carter. Intermingling Simba and Mufasa's sequences with Beyonce and Blue Ivy's shot was pure genius!

Speaking of The Lion King: The Gift, Beyonce spoke to ABC News about the inspiration behind the sound. "This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa. And I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it," the singer revealed. The companion soundtrack will feature Jay-Z, Blue Ivy Carter, Childish Gambino and Kendrick Lamar as well as Nigerian musicians Tekno, Mr. Eazi and Burna Boy.

Meanwhile, The Lion King is slated to release on July 19, 2019.
