Spider Man: Far From Home was to feature Falcon's FIRST LOOK as Captain America; Here's why it didn't happen
Spider-Man: Far From Home releases next week. The movie stars Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal Spider-Man: Far From Home in the lead. Falcon as the new Captain America almost made it to the new Spider-Man movie.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the first Marvel movie to release after events of Avengers: Endgame. The new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will pick up the pieces from the end of the Avengers movie and see the Iron Man-less world through the eyes of Spider-Man. A lot has changed since Tony Stark snapped his fingers and killed Thanos and his army. Not only did we see Tony die, Thor decided to venture into the dark corners of the universe with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
We also played witness to Steve Rogers' decision to go back into time and settle in the past with Peggy Carter. The Chris Evans starrer superhero handed his Captain America shield to Sam Wilson. Ever since fan artworks have been teasing the new Captain America's look in the future MCU movies. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and creative executive Eric Carroll told Comicbook.com that they intended of introducing the new Captain America into the world on the shoulders of Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
"We briefly talked about bringing in Falcon as Captain America at the end, like maybe once Peter's arced, and he's sort of like leading the team, like maybe he calls in a favor," Carroll explained. However, the movie required none of the other Avengers to be available to help Peter Parker during his European vacation gone wrong storyline. "But we also thought it was really important to the arc of this movie that there not be other Avengers available to Nick Fury or Peter, so he'd have to step up and do it himself," Carroll explained.
While this comes as a disappointment, we are still keeping our hopes high as San Diego Comic-Con takes places in less than a month and Marvel Studios is expected to make big announcements and reveals. Fingers crossed. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
