Spider Man: Far From Home star Jake Gyllenhaal says THIS about his role in Disney's Prince of Persia
This film saw Jake Gyllenhaal play the title role of a royal fugitive called Dastan in the 2010 film. But, unfortunately this film despite coming from Disney's banner did not create any magic at the box office.
Spider Man: Far From Home actor Jake Gyllenhaal shared his feelings about starring as a lead in Disney's non-performing film, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This film was an adaption of the highly successful video game franchise. This film saw Jake Gyllenhaal play the title role that of a royal fugitive called Dastan in the 2010 film. But, unfortunately this film despite coming from Disney's banner did not create any magic at the box office nor did it manage to get any kind of critical acclaim. Instead this film went down in history as one of those films that got a lot of backlash from the viewers for casting an white American actor as against casting an actor of Iranian roots.
Jake Gyllenhaal while talking to ET Canada for his upcoming film, Spider-Man: Far From Home press tour, Gyllenhaal said that Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was not the right film for him to play a lead in. Jake called this film a big mistake, which could have taken a toll on his film career. Since then Jake Gyllenhaal has been trying to be extremely careful with the roles he signs on. The actor further added saying he puts in a lot of thought before giving his nod to a film. He should be very clear in his mind as to why he wants to do the film.
Jake Gyllenhaal further added that sometimes one makes a bad choice and then regrets it, thinking the film did not fit in well and hence the audience members did not respond well to the film. The actors feels that this could lead of a feeling of disappointment with one's film and choice made.
