Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' Las Vegas 'surprise' wedding was well planned, X Men Dark Phoenix star reveals
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas surprised the world when they married last month. However, it wasn't a heat of the moment decision.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you would be aware that Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner married her long-term boyfriend and fiance Joe Jonas last month. The actress tied the knot in what was supposed to be a secret wedding ceremony a few hours after the Billboard Music Awards 2019 took place. DJ Diplo live-streamed the event and made our day, week and month. For the longest of time, fans of the couple presumed Sophie and Joe suddenly planned on getting married. However, the X-Men Dark Pheonix actress recently revealed that it wasn't the case.
The 23-year-old revealed that the wedding was a well-planned affair. Speaking to Porter, Sophie revealed that the couple had been planning the US wedding for a while before they actually walked into the Las Vegas chapel. She explained that due to the rising number of divorces, getting a marriage license is not so easy these days. Thus they had to plan their wedding.
“I think because there are so many annulments and divorces, you can’t just get the license at the chapel now, so it does take a little bit of planning," she told the outlet. Come to think of it, Sophie did walk into the wedding wearing a white outfit and not what she wore at BMAs. So it's obvious she got someone to arrange her outfit.
Meanwhile, Joe recently appeared on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp to joke that Diplo ruined his wedding. "Diplo did. Yeah, he ruined it. I love Diplo, but he loves his Gram more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds. He literally live-streamed with dog face filters. We just laughed. We loved it. We thought it was ridiculous," Joe said.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, the Jonas Brothers singer confessed he forgot to inform his parents about the wedding. He added that he's still in the bad books. Well, hopefully, the second wedding will mend things for Joe.
