SAG Awards 2020 Nominations: Jennifer Lopez broke down, Scarlett Johansson 'humbled' by the nod

The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2020 nominations were announced this week. Jennifer Lopez shared an emotional video sharing her reaction to being nominated. Scarlett Johansson too shared her thoughts on receiving three nods.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2020 nominations were announced on December 11 and some of the best performances have been honoured with a nod. From Leonardo DiCaprio, Reese Witherspoon to Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman, the nomination list has fans gushing. One among the many stars nominated this year includes Jennifer Lopez. The singer-actress received a female actor in a supporting role nod for her role in Hustlers. She is competing with Laura Dern for Marriage Story, Scarlett Johansson for Jojo Rabbit, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie for Bombshell. 

While we wait to see who takes home the award, an emotional Lopez confessed she feels like she has already won. JLo shared a video, where she was visibly tearing up, and reacted to her nomination. She said, "I don’t think I’ve ever been nominated for a SAG Award before. I am so excited and so humbled to be recognized by my fellow actors out there.”

The 50-year-old diva added, "Acting was my first love along with dancing and I just can’t believe all this is happening. Thank you very much. I feel like I already won. Thank you to SAG Awards. I’ll see you guys there!” She shared the video with the caption, "Holding back tears… means so much to me to be recognized by my fellow actors!!! Thank you so much to @sagawards for this nomination it truly means the world to me!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!”

On the other hand, Avengers: Endgame star Scarlett Johansson shared her thoughts in a statement to CNN. Bagging three nominations, two for Jo Jo Rabbit and one for Marriage Story, Johansson said, "I've been fortunate to work with some of the best actors alive who challenge me to dig deeper and make new discoveries. I feel very humbled today to be recognized by our guild which comprises the very artists that I admire most." 

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio shared his thoughts on the nominations. "It's an incredible honor to be nominated by my fellow actors, and humbling to be included amongst such an impressive group of peers," the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture nominee stated. "Making this film in the city of Los Angeles with Quentin Tarantino, that paid homage to our industry, our profession, and our shared cinematic past—along with Brad [Pitt], Margot [Robbie] and the entire remarkable cast, was an experience I will always treasure. Thank you," he said, in a statement to E! News. 

On the TV front, Big Little Lies has bagged a nomination this year. Reese Witherspoon spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and shared her thoughts. "I’m just so thrilled for the cast of Big Little Lies and the cast of Morning Show. It feels like a dream come true that I am involved in such an incredibly stellar project, both of them! We’re just thrilled, and we’re working on season two of Morning Show. It’s been really fun kind of figuring out where these characters are all going. It’s just an honor to work with this talented cast and this amazing writing team.”
