Royal family keen on improving representation, may appoint diversity chief after Meghan & Harry's revelations
According to a latest report, Buckingham Palace is mulling over appointing a diversity chief to bring in more representation.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's explosive revelations in Oprah's interview which aired earlier this month seems to be bringing about a change. According to a latest CNN report, Buckingham Palace is mulling over appointing a diversity chief to bring in more representation. The report comes after Meghan and Harry made racism claims stating that there were concerns in the royal family about the possible skin colour of their yet to be born baby.
A source revealed to CNN that the royal family is keen on improving representation and is planning on how to take things forward. The royal source said, "Diversity is an issue which has been taken very seriously across the Royal Households. We have the policies, the procedures and programmes in place but we haven't seen the progress we would like in terms of representation and more needs to be done, we can always improve."
The plan to appoint a diversity chief is very much on the cards but revealed that it is "too early" to announce any "firm plans". Apart from racism claims among the family, Meghan and Harry also spoke about how the British Press at large targeted the Duchess of Sussex and coverage on her had racial undertones.
Just a few days ago, Prince William while attending an event was confronted by a reporter who asked him whether the royal family was a racist family. Replying to the reporter, Prince William asserted by saying. "We are very much not a racist family."
