Before he became a Hollywood star, The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson was one of the biggest WWE superstars of the Attitude Era.

It was in 1996 when The Rock wrestled his first ever match, particularly at Survivor Series. Along with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Dwayne Johnson went on to define the Attitude Era of WWE and became one of the biggest superstars in the world of professional wrestling. Currently, The Rock is focusing on his flourishing Hollywood career as he's one of the highest-paid actors! But, that doesn't mean there's love lost for WWE. On various occasions, the Brahma Bull returns to his first love, WWE, for epic segments.

However, in a recent appearance for Live with Kelly and Ryan, Dwayne revealed that he has "quietly retired" from professional wrestling. When asked if he misses wrestling, the Hobbs & Shaw star confessed, "Well, I quietly retired from wrestling because I was lucky enough to have just a really wonderful career and accomplished what I wanted to accomplish. But there’s nothing like a live crowd, a live audience, a live microphone." Furthermore, Johnson credited WWE for where he stands with his Hollywood career and spoke about the Survivor Series 1996 match, which took place at Madison Square Garden, and how 20,000 in attendance chanted "Rocky! Rocky!"

Found this gem of one my favorite @wwe matches. Me vs @bookertfivex for the WCW Heavyweight World Title. Booker is such an incredibly gifted beast of an athlete so our wrestling styles complimented each other very well. There was no one better when it came to pure in ring athleticism and there’s a reason why this man is in the Hall of Fame. He’s a tough bastard too and after this 35min match I felt like I got hit by a fucking truck Thank you brother Book for “the house” and for “doing the honors” - this one was special. #RockVsBookerT #WCWHeavyweightTitle #ElectrifyingCrowd

The last match that The Rock ever wrestled in WWE was at Wrestlemania 32, against Erick Rowan and Dwayne clinched victory in mere six seconds. While Johnson was not a part of the recently held RAW reunion like Stone Cold, he is expected to make an appearance in October 2019, for SmackDown Live's debut on FOX.
