Nick Jonas on being diagnosed with diabetes at age 13: I was very close to a coma
Ever since he was a teenager, fellow Jonas Brother Nick Jonas has been battling with Type I diabetes which got so bad that the singer was very close to a coma, as revealed by Nick himself. Read below to know more about what the Midway actor had to say on the same.
To say that Nick Jonas is currently living his best life would be an understatement! When it comes to his professional life, the fellow Jonas Brother had a major reunion with siblings Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas and kickstarted the boy band, right from where they left it all those years ago. As Jonas Brothers, they not only released a documentary but also made a reunion chart-topping album titled Happiness Begins which had tracks like Sucker and Cool. While the Jo Bros are busy touring the world now, Nick is also happily married to our desi girl, Priyanka Chopra and their newlywed glow remains, even after almost a year of being married.
But, did you know that the youngest Jonas of the trio was suffering from Type I diabetes, at the tender age of just 13? Earlier, in 2015, while talking to Entertainment Tonight, Nick had revealed, "When I was first diagnosed, I didn't really know a lot about the disease. So I was actually thinking I was going to die." In a recent interview with Cigar Aficionado, the 27-year-old singer confessed that the diabetes was much more deadly than it was let on. "I was very close to a coma. Like a day away, if I hadn’t gone to the hospital," Jonas confided.

During the various trials and tribulations of battling diabetes, Nick would keep asking his parents if he was going to be okay. In order to regulate his blood sugar, the Midway star would require insulin shots but later switched to an insulin pump.
Eventually, the singer got a hold of the situation and made sure to not let his medical condition keep him away from his big and creative dreams. The Jealous singer also started to open up to his fans about his medical struggles.
