Natalie Portman agreed to star in Thor: Love and Thunder 'right away', says Kevin Feige
Natalie Portman will be essaying the role of Female Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, revealed that Natalie was on board for Thor 4 "right away." Read below to know more about what Kevin had to say on the same.
One of the biggest revelations during the Marvel Studios Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was that Natalie Portman was officially back in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Moreover, the Oscar-winning actress' character Jane Foster will be worthy to yield Thor's Mjolnir and become Female Thor for the fourth installment in the franchise. Titled Thor: Love and Thunder, the MCU movie also marks the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Taika Waititi, who directed the hugely successful Thor: Ragnarok (2017) returns as the director of Thor: Love and Thunder.
Hall H was lit up as the crowd erupted in cheers for when Natalie walked the stage and was welcomed with Taika bending his knee giving her the Mjolnir to hold. Talking about playing Female Thor, Portman gushed, "This feels pretty good. I've always had a little hammer envy." In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, post the huge Thor announcement, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, got candid about Natalie's return. Kevin spoke about how amazing the actress is and that she's always been in contact with Marvel Studios. Portman had earlier appeared in Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). Her character was mentioned in Avengers: Endgame as well.
"When Taika had this idea and pitched it to her, she was in right away," Feige revealed.
